Head Swim Coach
Southern Village Club is seeking a Head Coach for our summer swim team. The ideal candidate will have the knowledge and experience necessary to enhance the competitive and fun atmosphere of this strong swim program. Applicant must be capable of building relationships with participants and assistant coaches and able to motivate team members.
The Stingrays Swim season runs from May 10th until July 20th. Practices and meets are held on weekdays with the exception of two weekend dates. Several meetings and organization sessions prior to the swim season are required. Applicants must have at least two years of coaching experience.
Assistant Head Swim Coach
The Assistant Coach will provide support to and follow the direction of the Head Coach, as well as assist in the implementation of the written plan. The Assistant Coach will be available for all practices, meets, events, and meetings. Lifeguarding certification or Safety Training for Swim Coaches is preferred but not required. Coaching or swim lesson experience necessary.
Pool Manager
The Pool Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the pool, including skill and quality of the lifeguards. He/she is responsible for all water chemistry, maintaining the pools in a manner compliant with all governmental regulations, cleanliness, rule enforcement, and scheduling and managing the lifeguard staff. CPO (can be obtained through the club) and Lifeguarding certification is required.
Head Lifeguard
The Head Lifeguard(s) are available to provide support to the Pool Manager and Assistant Manager, and assume the responsibility of the Pool Manager when another Manager is not present. Lifeguarding certification is required. Minimum of two years Lifeguarding experience required.
Lifeguard
Lifeguards are required to ensure the safety of the members and guests by enforcing pool rules in a friendly manor, and monitoring all activities in and around the pool area. In addition, they are responsible for the general cleanliness of the facility during general swimming hours. Lifeguarding certification is required.
Camp Director
A full-time position with the purpose of developing, planning, and executing nine weekly themes and activities for our summer camp. You will establish a daily schedule of activities that includes indoor/outdoor games, arts and crafts, field trips, pool time, etc. The Director will work with an Assistant Director to insure the enjoyment and safety of all campers. The camp day is from 8:30 – 3:30 with an extended day option until 5pm (weekdays only). Must be at least 18 years of age, with previous camp or teaching experience. Must have valid CPR/First Aid certification by date of hire. Must be a competent swimmer and Lifeguard certification is preferred, but not mandatory.
Gate Attendant / Snack Bar Attendant (filled for 2021)
This full or part-time position ensures that each member is met with a friendly greeting. Attendants must sign in all members, document guests, handle snack bar purchases, and be responsible for accounting for the snack bar cash drawer at the end of each shift.
Maintenance (currently filled)
This part-time position will assist with keeping the pool and pool area, as well as areas of the clubhouse, clean and free of debris. The position is ideal for someone in school or with other summer obligations as it is necessary to perform this work in the early morning (from 6 am – 8 am) Monday through Friday before the pool is open. Weekend days are optional and it is possible to work a weekend day instead of a weekday. This is the COOLEST position we have as you will be working in the morning before the heat of the day! No experience necessary but responsibility is a must.
