Assistant Tennis Professional
We are seeking an Assistant Professional for a year-round position starting in January 2018. Our Club is a 300+ member swim and tennis club in prestigious Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Members are primarily families with pre-school through high school age children. The facility has 6 hard courts, hosts junior USTA Tournaments and JTT, and offers summer tennis camp.
The ideal candidate has prior private club experience, the ability to teach private lessons, run adult and junior clinics, can work with a wide range of ages and abilities, and is primarily interested in the 10 and under group. It is important for the candidate to enjoy working with kids and to have an enthusiastic attitude towards junior clinics and lessons. Candidates must be USPTA/PTR certified with a minimum of 1 year teaching experience preferred. The position will include teaching private and semi-private lessons, instructional clinics, racquet stringing, and summer camp. Please note that this is not a position where the Assistant is one of many Assistant Pros. Staff size is limited in order to provide maximum opportunities to teach, and there are numerous lessons available.

Assistant Head Swim Coach
The Assistant Coach will provide support to and follow the direction of the Head Coach, as well as assist in the implementation of the written plan. The Assistant Coach will be available for all practices, meets, events, and meetings. Lifeguarding certification or Safety Training for Swim Coaches is preferred but not required. Coaching or swim lesson experience necessary.
Assistant Club Manager
The Assistant Club Manager is responsible for assisting the Club Manager with day-to-day responsibilities including administrative duties, and overseeing the pool and camp staff. Position runs from May until August and is ideal for a Recreation Management student. Certified Pool Operators certification is required and can be obtained through the club.
The Pool Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the pool, including skill and quality of the lifeguards. He/she is responsible for all water chemistry, maintaining the pools in a manner compliant with all governmental regulations, cleanliness, rule enforcement, and scheduling and managing the lifeguard staff. CPO and Lifeguarding certification is required.
Assistant Pool Manager
The Assistant Pool Manager is available to provide support to the Pool Manager, and assume the responsibilities of the Pool Manager when Manager is not present. Lifeguarding certification is required. Minimum of three years Lifeguarding experience required.
The Head Lifeguard(s) are available to provide support to the Pool Manager and Assistant Manager, and assume the responsibility of the Pool Manager when another Manager is not present. Lifeguarding certification is required. Minimum of two years Lifeguarding experience required.
Lifeguards are required to ensure the safety of the members and guests by enforcing pool rules in a friendly manor, and monitoring all activities in and around the pool area. In addition, they are responsible for the general cleanliness of the facility during general swimming hours. Lifeguarding certification is required.
Camp Director/ Assistant Camp Director
A full-time position with the purpose of developing, planning, and executing nine weekly themes and activities for our summer camp. You will establish a daily schedule of activities that includes indoor/outdoor games, arts and crafts, field trips, pool time, etc. The Director will work with an Assistant Director to insure the enjoyment and safety of all campers. The camp day is from 8:30 – 3:30 with an extended day option until 5pm (weekdays only). Must be at least 18 years of age, with previous camp or teaching experience. Must have valid CPR/First Aid certification by date of hire. Must be a competent swimmer and Lifeguard certification is preferred, but not mandatory.
Gate Attendant / Snack Bar Attendant
This full or part-time position ensures that each member is met with a friendly greeting. Attendants must sign in all members, document guests, handle snack bar purchases, and be responsible for accounting for the snack bar cash drawer at the end of each shift.
This part-time position will assist with keeping the pool and pool area, as well as areas of the clubhouse, clean and free of debris. The position is ideal for someone in school or with other summer obligations as it is necessary to perform this work in the early morning (from 6 am – 8 am) Monday through Friday before the pool is open. Weekend days are optional and it is possible to work a weekend day instead of a weekday. This is the COOLEST position we have as you will be working in the morning before the heat of the day! No experience necessary but responsibility is a must.
