Meets & Events

Meet Information

Meets are a great way for swimmers to demonstrate their progress throughout the season! CHSSL meets prioritize sportsmanship, individual growth, and teamwork. Swim meets are held first for fun and second to determine a winner.

Weekday Meets: Warm-ups begin at 4:00PM for the home team, & 4:25PM for the away team. Meet begins at 5:00PM.
Saturday Meets: Warm-ups begin at 8:00AM for the home team, & 8:25AM for the away team. Meet begins at 9:00AM.

*Individual meet information & entries will be sent out via email around a week before each meet.*

*Please remember that parents are required to volunteer at each meet.*

Champs Eligibility

In order to participate in Champs, swimmers must have participated in 2 of the 6 dual meets of the 2025 season. This does not include the Mock Meet.

Throughout the season, the coaches organize social events to promote team bonding!

Pancake Breakfast

Every other Friday after each morning practice!

Ice Cream Social: Monday, June 10

Coaches Caroline, Oliver, & Lya will be serving ice cream sundaes after the last PM practice session!

Tie-Dye: Tuesday, June 18

Bring a white t-shirt to tie-dye with Coach Peyton & Coach Ellie after the last AM practice session!

Slip n’ Slides: Monday, June 24

Wear a suit and bring a friend to slip and slide with Coach Frannie and Coach Grey after the last AM practice session!

Field Day: Thursday, July 11

Wear athletic clothes and join us on the field by the pool to play some games led by Coach Duke and Coach Noah after the last AM practice session!

Pre-Champs Pep Rally: Thurs. July 17, 2025

Whether or not your swimmer is participating in Champs, join us to celebrate the end of the season with pasta, family relays, and more!

End of Season Banquet: Sun. July 20, 2025

Come celebrate the Stingrays’ accomplishments – time and location TBD!

SVGC Swim Team

The SVGC swim team is part of the Chapel Hill Summer Swim League, and welcomes swimmers ages 5–18. Our goal is to help each swimmer improve their skills by emphasizing fun, team spirit, healthy competition, and good sportsmanship. The friendships formed among team members make being part of the team truly special.

In order to participate on the Stingrays, swimmers must be a current member of the following clubs: Southern Village, Governors Club, Governors Village, Governors Park, The Preserve, or The Legacy.
